Resonant’s commitment to clean air extends beyond conventional solutions. Our off-gas treatment technologies redefine the landscape of industrial emissions management, ensuring your operations are not just compliant but optimized for sustainability.

Off-Gas Coolers

Trombone Coolers

Utilise natural convection and require no additional energy input. It is ideal for applications where the required energy removal is steady and minimal control is needed apart from by-passing.

Forced Draught Coolers

Utilise forced convection through centrifugal or axial fans. These units are suited to applications requiring a larger degree of control with varying off-gas energy removal.

Quench Towers

Utilise evaporative cooling to remove off-gas energy and are best suited for very high-temperature applications to reduce temperatures to around 500 °C before further cooling. Significant moisture is added due to water’s evaporation and should be considered for downstream equipment.

Pre-Separators

Drop-out boxes

The simplest form of coarse particle removal is large settling chambers in which the velocity is reduced to drop out larger particles. These units are suited to applications where large particles, such as furnace feed carry-over or tapping and casting sparks, are present in the gas stream.

Cyclones

Utilise centrifugal force to separate solid particles from off-gas streams in various applications, and it can be designed for lower-efficiency pre-separators up to high-efficiency dust collectors.

Radiclones

These are an extension of the traditional cyclone but offer more control with respect to the average size of particles captured, which is an important factor for saleable fractions in the gas stream.

Multi-cyclones

These consist of a bank of smaller cyclones, all operating in parallel to create a more compact unit when compared to conventional cyclones. These units are capable of achieving capture efficiencies similar to conventional cyclones and are used widely in applications such as flash dryers, boilers, kilns, sinter plant dusts and cold blast cupolas.

Filtration

Baghouses

Baghouses remove particulate matter through filtration, where the dust-laden off-gas is passed through a filtering media and clean air is exhausted from the baghouse.

Pulse-jet baghouses

They use high-intensity compressed air pulses to clean the filter bags. The intense cleaning mechanism makes these units more compact with higher filtration rates. These units are used in a very wide range of applications, from material handling dust control to processing off-gas from furnaces, kilns, hot gas generators, dryers and calciners.

Reverse air baghouses

Utilise low-intensity reverse airflow from a reverse air fan to clean the filter bags. These units operate at lower filtration rates due to their gentle cleaning nature and are best suited to large volumes of off-gas from furnaces, converters and kilns.

Wet Scrubbing

Venturi scrubbers

These scrubbers are high-efficiency scrubbers used over a wide range of applications, from dust control and fume treatment to closed furnace combustible off-gas treatment. These units can easily treat off-gas with high dust loads and fine particulates.

Vane scrubbers

These are medium-efficiency scrubbers typically used on dust control applications and single-fired bagasse boilers. A stationary internal vane is used to create intimate contact between the scrubbing liquor and off-gas. These units offer lower water usage and are more suited to treating larger particles and lower dust loads.

Cyclonic scrubbers

These utilise an adjustable inlet blade to maintain the required pressure drop for efficient cleaning. These units are typically used on dust control applications, dryers and single-fired bagasse boilers. These units offer lower water usage and are more suited to treating moderately sized particles and medium dust loads.
